This installation by Marcelo Segall is a mirror to society, exposing the entanglement of power, violence and economy. At its center, a ruler’s face emerges in camouflage tones, layered with charred textures, an image both idolized and corroded.
On one side, the euro sign is built from fragile porcelain figurines, symbols of innocence and domesticity repurposed into the language of finance. On the other, a rifle assembled in the same way embodies aggression and control. Together they reveal how lives and values are absorbed into systems of capital and conflict.
The work carries a price tag of one million. It challenges viewers to join the dialogue and confront a deeper question: what is the true cost of power, and who is willing to pay it? By doing so, it invites audiences to reflect on their own positions within these dynamics.
