Rey Jaffet

Rey Jaffet

Rey Jaffet is a Miami-born artist whose practice moves fluidly between fine art and urban expression. Working across steel, paint, light, and mixed media, he creates compositions that balance movement with stillness, control with release. Rooted in Miami’s layered cultural landscape, his work spans from intimate pieces to monumental installations, including major public murals and ongoing participation in Art Basel Miami Beach. Jaffet’s visual language is immediate and intuitive, shaped by gesture, energy, and material. His work invites a heightened awareness of the present moment, where form, rhythm, and space converge into a direct and personal experience.

My work begins with a sense of openness, a willingness to enter a space without fixed intention and allow movement, material, and energy to guide the process. What emerges is not a predetermined image, but a record of presence, shaped by moments of surrender and awareness.

I am interested in the space where opposites meet. Movement and stillness, control and release, the physical and the intangible. Through gesture and material, I try to hold these conditions simultaneously, creating works that feel both grounded and expansive.

Much of my practice is rooted in a sensitivity to energy, something that cannot be fully seen but can be felt. Each piece becomes a way of translating that experience into form, whether through paint, metal, light, or scale. In public works, this energy extends outward, engaging directly with environment and community. In more intimate works, it turns inward, asking for stillness and attention.

At its core, my intention is simple. To create spaces where people can pause, feel, and recognize a sense of connection that exists beyond the individual.
